This is the problem when someone tries to set rules on a forum where there are no rules! :yippee:

Pentax Manual Focus Primes (K mount)

Ha ha !! Well it was to Channel 4 Studios where all the prizewinners had been printed from the negatives we had to submit. The previous time I had been to Manchester was in the 1940's when I was evacuated to Delamere Road, Rochdale, and we went on a Bus Trip and I caught something off one of the kids and was sick ----

Pentax Manual Focus Primes (K mount)

Due to popular demand, and the lack of an M42 club, membership to this one is now expanded to include all manual focus Pentax lenses. :yippee:

Graduate status will be revised accordingly in due course.

Nice to see how many are manual aficionados have signed up, and to see some very successful photos appearing here too. :thumb:

Distinctions are being awarded to those who use film for the submitted videos!

Hi Pupil,

Your homework this week is to dig out a photo of and another by your M 28mm f3.5.

Welcome to the PMFP club! ;wave:

How about this? Taken today in South Wales.

The Sugarloaf

With apologies for the tardy response - I've been away for three weeks.

Excellent photograph proving that almost 40 years of lens development might have achieved very little progress. You certainly know how to coax life out of the venerable 28 3.5.
Of course, only in the right hands.

Thanks for taking and sharing, it is a lovely photo and very well composed.

Peter, these are rightly acknowledged as top quality photographs. It is eye opening to be reminded of how good these lenses were, and so nice to remember the sense of life that film creates. Of course, it might be more to do with the person behind the camera! Really like the interior shot - so much detail and colour, but even more so the photo of the centenarian which truly captures one hundred years of life in a single portrait.

As Smeggy suggested, the manual club now embraces M42 and other screw mount Pentax lenses.

Well I'm just a hypocrite and a cheat to boot! :spank:

Thank you for pointing out these anomolies, clearly I was looking at my lens collection when determining membership status - shame on me.

The Pentax Manual Focus Club now embraces screw mount lenses so perhaps the heading should be revised without any reference to K mount. All in the spirit of the inclusive nature of this forum!

If the Janitor could possibly edit the heading, I would be forever grateful. ;wave:

Actually it's a Medium Format (645 or 67) for Fellow you need that as well to get to Dean. It would make more sense to me to have medium format Pentax or 110 for Fellow then medium format and 110 for Dean. :chin: Wouldn't change my ranking but might help spread things a little.
Oh and yes the K mount in the title should go.
I'd did note that if you've got the f1.2 nothing else matters, but for me that's not going to happen :(

Still confused

Is this a club for Pentax manual focus lenses or Pentax manual focus K mount lenses?
if the former, why are m42 optics not included?
If the latter, why are medium and 110 lenses included?

Perhaps it should be called the Pentax Manual Focus Primes (K, M, A, 645, 67 and 110) Club, or just stick to K mount?

Indeed, but let's include M42 and the other one M37. Rules, on this forum, are either inappropriate or simply there to be broken. For the sake of easy reference though, and to avoid confusion, I think it best that we stick to Pentax manual focus primes for this club and allow others to set up clubs for zoom lenses and other brands, many of which certainly deserve their own patch.

What say you?

Pentax Manual Focus Primes (K mount)

I've been trying to avoid this thread - I've sold off most of my K and M series lenses over the last year, but every now and then I find a lens that I haven't tried (on digital). My latest LBA acquisition is a Pentax K 135mm f3.5 - a very unassuming, ordinary looking and specified lens - not a fast aperture, not particularly compact, but just from playing around with it last night I'm pretty certain it's going to prove to be a real stunner :)

a variety of my stuff can be found here......
