I have a Mecablitz 36 AF-4P which I have tried to use on my K1 ii but it does not fire. I have changed the batteries, no luck. Does this flash work on a K1? It worked on my K5 and K3.
Thanks Any help will be appreciated.

I've seen other post at the US forum suggesting the K1 series and the Metz 36 don't work together - do some searching over there to see if you can get to the bottom of it :thumb:

I've decided the unit has given up the ghost as it does not fire when pressing the test button, so I will be buying a new flash gun anyway, I am the problem as I don't use flash very often, but no excuse for the gun to fail.

Have you been turning it on every few months?

In the Mecablitz manual for my flashgun it says this:

”The flash capacitor built into the flash unit undergoes physical change if the unit is not switched on for a prolonged period. For this reason it is necessary to switch the unit on for approximately 10 minutes at least once every three months. The power supplied by the power source must be sufficient to cause the flash readiness indicator to light up no more than one minute after the flash unit is switched on”

No I didn't but the green light comes on but nothing happens when you press the test button.

As Metz say, you should have turned in on every three months to keep it in working order.

Have a look here though, putting some batteries in it and leaving it on for a few hours may help:

If you do get it working make sure you power it up every few months.
