It has an excellent reputation, rightly so, although it is quite an old lens now so probably wouldn't truly compare in terms of IQ, sharpness or contrast again modern equivalents. If you're reading this you probably know about this lens anyway, but the are several write-ups and reviews on the web if you do a little searching - Here is the review from over at Pentaxforums.com:

The condition of this copy is average to good (for its age) - it's clearly seen a lot of action and it shows with a fair amount of silvering on the metal parts of the barrel and around the filter ring. There are no dents or dings, the focus is on the loose side (fairly common with this age of Tamron manual focus lenses), the adpatall mount is operating correctly and a Pentax KA mount is included. it doesn't have the original hood although a generic Metal matching 77mm hood is provided.
Optically the front element has nice coatings, with some minor dust/debris when looking through. The rear elements have some minor mark on the inner elements, I've tried to show this in one of the photos, and the aperture is snappy with a few silvering marks visible.

...and my absolute favourite, taken into the light through undergrowth....

I don't expect this to sell on the forums, so will list on Ebay shortly, but I prefer to give the option to the members on here first.
