I have 2 MX cameras, one worn out shutter, one wind lever trouble and both NO Flash Synch or Meter working. Well-- I took off the base-plate of the better one and saw the mass of cogs and levers ! I carefully lubricated the cogs and levers with a minute amount of sewing machine oil that had got my 1961 S3 working and found the MX now winds on 'sweeter' -- still no meter or flash synch though.
I gave it an outing loaded with some year [b]2000[b] Kodak Gold 200 that a kind Pentax member had sent me. I rated it down to 125 SA and processed for and extra 30 secs in my C41 mix and got some good negs on a short length which i cut as a try out.
Here are some snaps I took ---- ( metered with a trusty 1960's Weston Master V)

I'm hoping I'll have something worthy of sharing one day
. I've also got two mx lying on the 'to fix' pile!

Agreed.

It's amazing what you achieve with ancient colour film, Peter!

Cheers.

Don't suppose you've got any mx parts or an MX that is food for parts lying around by any chance?

I've got a copy that's only missing the lens release lever. Just took a broken me super apart to steal it from that but turns out they changed the design, for reasons that I'm sure were important at the time l!

danofmk: sorry -- I want to work on my other MX so do not want to dispose of it at the moment.
