Finally got round to working out how to fix my DSLR to my Skywatcher 150mm on a Dobsonian mount.
Took this picture about 20.00 this evening whilst still light just to try it out.
Saved at 1750 pix...guessing can load this large?

Taken with a K-50. Effective focal length of scope is 1200mm at f8

Looks good!
A Dobsonian mount might prove tricky for dimmer objects, but clearly has no problems with the moon.

Can you get prime focus with the Skywatcher & a DSLR?
My 130mm Astromaster won't allow the camera close enough to focus, so I have to add a eyepiece into the equation or switch to my mirrorless bodies.

Hi Mike,

yes it will prime focus. I knew when I got it about 5-6 years ago that it would take a DSLR...just never got round to establishing how to attach it.
Now that i've figured that out it's opened up another vista...literally.

I personally find the moon looks better when it's NOT full. You get much better shadows on the creators...
