Aperture Block

Hi
I am new to the forum so be gentle with me. I am switching from Canon to Pentax and have decided to go for the K-S2 to start with, while reading reviews etc on the model i came across a few people having problems with Aperture block and having to send away for repair which has me worried. Is this a common occurrence on the Pentax dslrs ?, i know the K50 suffered a lot with this problem.
Thanks
Tim

Hi and welcome to the forum,
I've had a few k5 variations m1-m3
a k3 and now k3ii.
I've got to be honest, I've never heard of this issue ?

Welcome aboard Tim :thumb:

There are specific "known" problems with various models from all manufacturers - the K30/50 has been known to have a specific problem on some copies, but I'm not aware of it being a general problem with the KS2.

Enjoy using your camera, and try not to worry about something that may or may not happen.

It might be related to BAD - Bokeh Anxiety Disorder.

Hi
I came across it on youtube then started looking it up elsewhere, it's to do with the Aperture Motor, in a nutshell you end up with black images.

The problem is/was real with a batch of K-30/K-50 cameras. Thanks be heard no real reports of this continuing to be an issue with subsequent models so you should be safe with the K-S2 :thumb:
