The other day I went to an exhibition of street photography at the Manchester Art Gallery. It's curated by Martin Parr and is a collection of street photography by a number of well known (and some I has never heard of) photographers.
The exhibition has some great images on display, along with some images that make me wonder why the photographer is famous. There''s two Japanese photographers, one imo utter crap, the other very good. I have never really been a fan of Gary Winongrand, but I really liked his images in this exhibition. The images by Henri Cartier-Bresson were not as good as a lot of his stuff I have seen. Bruce Gilden has 4 massive images that are his normal disturbing freakshow. Lots of images on display.
