A few from the garden today...

Most are with the K1 and DFA-WR 100 Macro plus a 36mm extension tube and AF160C Ringlash.

There's savage detail in these, I like them all, that shield bug is very interesting, compared to the one i saw over here, yours is hairy :) cool colour too, you have managed to get some catchy angles as well.
No 5 for me, followed by 7, there's something about 7's composition that tickles my fancy, I do like it.
As I said i like them all but those 2 stand out, but then they all do

Good shooting :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks Derek - once again you can take some credit for the inspiration

The shield bug (or "sting bug" as the kids used to call them) is the first one of its type I've seen! All others have been green and I thought they were smooth, but then again I rarely do close-up with a tube and a macro lens so it may just be I haven't seen the hairs before. The colours on the shield bug do blend particularly well with the plant it was on - a natural camouflage mechanism I guess.

The last shot is with the Sigma 105 Macro - a lens I have a love-hate relationship with, I hate using it - the feel, focus, everything about it just doesn't do it for me, but the results are always really nice - I hate to say it but on a par with my Pentax macros

The thing that I found with the ring flash, is that it can be a tad harsh when you're up close with tubes. Next step is to get all blue Peter on it :) :) :)

I bought myself one (AF160FC) recently - I've also ordered a DA 1.4x TC and have access to extension tubes (an old Vivitar 'auto' set). How would I go about making the flash less harsh? Cheers!
