Here is a method I use for getting those extra frames wasted with 'auto-load cameras' -- it works with my SF-7 and MZ-5 -- i usually make the extra bit of film added a little LONGER than shown and cut off any sharp corners so it does not jam.
I cut a length of waste film as shown and attach with a very small piece of 'Sellotape' front and back being careful not to get any over a sprocket hole where the auto-load senses the holes.

Now I can get 40 out of a 36 exposure quite often !
