A Helping Hand....

(Declaration of slight interest - A good friend of mine has set up a new online film camera business and I said I would try and give it a push where I could....

So here goes!)

www.filtrfilmcameras.co.uk

The aim is to be an accessible entry point into the world of film for those looking to get into it for the first time.

He felt that at the minute there were lots of blogs telling you about film and film cameras, but there weren't that many sites dedicated to selling a good selection of 35mm MF cameras (which is what he knows), that most of those that did sell a few only really did so as a side show to their digital stuff, and nearly all of those that did sell in good numbers didn't really give people a steer as to what they needed to know, or be thinking about before they purchased.

Have a look - any feedback (particularly of the constructive criticism side) I will pass on, and I know it will be gratefully received.

Thanks for looking.

He has some good stuff on there, but no Nikon F range. There were some great camera makers out in the 60s onwards. I have a ME Super which I used for over 30 years and would love to have a digital back on it.

I've got an f2 myself, but I know he's trying to keep the price point down for newbies.

Cool concept. Be interesting to see if there's a market for it.

True the Nikon F range do hold there price well. Still there are other great makes out there. Fujica made some great slr cameras like the ST 605 and the ST 705. Before I had my Pentax I used a Fujica ST605 and liked it. Also Konica and Minolta can be picked up at a good price. I think its a good way to get folks in to film.

Well, the boy has been busy;

I may or may not have given him a steer with some of this....

And yes I knew I was chancing my arm a tad with the AP one, but still annoyed somebody pointed it out so quickly!

Part 2 of the blog contains another Pentax model. Points for whoever can guess which....
